European Commission First Vice-President Frans Timmermans and the European Union Commissioner on Justice, Equality and Consumers Protection Vera Jourova have today announced the intention of the European Commission to assign a coordinator for anti-Semitism and a coordinator for Islamophobia within the Commission.
The two coordinators will report directly to Vice-President Timmermans, who announced himself “Special Envoy” dealing with anti-Semitic and anti-Islamic hate crimes. The announcement was made at the first Annual Colloquium on Fundamental Rights in the European Union in Brussels, Belgium.
