Holocaust Theatre Online Collection Project launched

It is an honor for the European Shoah Legacy Institute to partner in this project, which aims at creating a new global website to promote and enhance Jewish Theatre and Performing Arts related to the theme of the Holocaust. The principle goals of HTC to preserve and publicize information on this socially and culturally valuable aspect of the Holocaust history and to advance meaningful remembrance of the Holocaust are coherent with the Terezin Declaration of 2009, which mandates our institution to note and promote developments which, inter alia, educate new generations about little-known aspects of the Holocaust and promote further research publication of such topics.

Also, since HTC strives to rediscover works of performing arts lost during the Holocaust and to present them on the website, the project will thus deal with questions of intellectual property rights, which are of utmost importance of ESLI, along with other property rights of the victims and survivors of the Holocaust as well as other victims of Nazi persecution.  It has been agreed that HTC will investigate the question of withheld royalties and inform ESLI of the results of its work, and to involve it in the process, if needed.
