Czech version of the new UN study guide on Holocaust released
On the occasion of the International Day of Holocaust Remembrance, the European Shoah Legacy Institute in cooperation with the United Nations Information Centre Prague and with the support of the Embassy of Israel presented the Czech version of the new United Nations study guide titled The Last Flight of Petr Ginz. The study guide is to aid elementary and high school teachers worldwide to educate children about the Holocaust.
The guide teaches about the history of the Holocaust by means of recounting the personal story of an extraordinarily gifted 14-year old Czech "Mischling" Petr Ginz, who had written five novels and penned a diary about the Nazi occupation of Prague, as well as by explaining the historical context of the story of Peter, which ended in in gas chambers in Auschwitz.
